Dry Pole Bean, King of Cassoulet

from CA$3.50

This is a cherished variety of Tarbes, France. The proper name of the bean, Tarbais, is regionally protected. They are also versatile: use them in salads, casseroles, soups, baked beans, and dips. A creamy bean that holds its shape well.

This is a pole bean, which means that it climbs like a vine. Ideally you'll provide a trellis or pole for it to climb; think about where it can be in your garden without shading out other crops! Or order some milling corn and plant one bean at the base of each corn plant. You'll want to give the corn 2-3 weeks' head start.

Packet: minimum 30 seeds
