Chick peas grow well in Canada. These ones take top prize for prettiness. Dry, they are black and krinkly. They cook up to more of a dark brown. The plants are fern like in appearance and very compact. They reach a height of 18-24" and don't need staking.

Plant chickpeas in early- to mid-spring in rows at least 2’ apart, seeding 4-6 seeds per foot and thinning to every 6”.
