A very large bean well-suited to soups. It’s a relative of the borlotti/cranberry bean with a smooth texture and mild nuttiness.

This is a pole bean, which means that it climbs like a vine. Ideally you'll provide a trellis or pole for it to climb; think about where it can be in your garden without shading out other crops! Or order some milling corn and plant one bean at the base of each corn plant. You'll want to give the corn 2-3 weeks' head start.
